At St Paul’s, we believe that a child who feels safe, loved and connected is a child who is ready to learn. The wellbeing of every student is not just a priority – it is at the very heart of everything we do. Our pastoral care program supports every child spiritually, emotionally, socially and academically, ensuring that no child ever feels alone in their journey.
Pastoral care at St Paul’s isn’t a separate program – it’s woven into the fabric of daily school life. Grounded in Christian values, it flows through every relationship, every classroom and every interaction between staff, students and families. We walk alongside each child with genuine care and a deep commitment to their wellbeing, every single day.
We are proud to have a dedicated Chaplain on-site, offering an additional layer of warmth, support and guidance to both students and families as they navigate life’s challenges and grow in faith.
At St Paul’s, student wellbeing is led with purpose and intention. Our Deputy Principal oversees student wellbeing across the whole school, ensuring that every child is seen, supported and cared for at every stage of their journey. Having dedicated leadership in this space means that when a child needs support, the right person is always there.
We are proud to implement the Grow Your Mind whole-school wellbeing program across our entire school community – from Kindy through to Year 6. Grow Your Mind is an evidence-based, curriculum-aligned program grounded in four key pillars of research: positive psychology, social and emotional learning, public health and neuroscience.
Through engaging, age-appropriate lessons, students develop a genuine understanding of their own mental health and emotional wellbeing. Using clever animal analogies to explain key parts of the brain – including the Guard Dog, the Wise Owl and the Elephant – children learn in a fun and accessible way how to understand and manage their emotions, build resilience and develop healthy relationships.
The program covers topics including emotional regulation, resilience, mindfulness, healthy friendships, growth mindset, kindness, gratitude and so much more – giving every child a real toolkit of strategies to draw on both at school and at home.
